Thinking Machine Labs (founder: Mira Murati, former CTO of OpenAI) with key products as Tinker (training & inference platform - designed to simplify and automate the lightweight fine-tuning (using LoRA adapters) of large open models) have launched Inkling, which provides open-weights AI model for customizable, domain-specific workflows. They have released Inkling-Small, which achieves strong performance near the level of Inkling at just over a quarter of the size. It contains 276B total parameters (12B active) and can natively take in text, images, and audio just like Inkling. Read more here.
Meta released Muse Glimmer, a new 30B open agentic model that runs on 18GB RAM under a permissive Apache 2.0 license. Meta’s Muse Code (using Muse Spark model) is directly competitive with Anthropic’s Claude Code as a terminal-native, multi-agent CLI/TUI.
